Join ACSO for a discussion between visionary and accomplished artistic leaders working in classical music today. They will share the challenges and successes they’ve faced on their career journeys, discuss leadership philosophies, share thoughts on gender and power dynamics in our field, and talk about the role of education and mentorship in building a career pipeline for women. Furthermore, they will respond to the existential changes happening in our field, and discuss what they think the future may hold.

Panelists include (subject to change)

  • Jessica Bejarano, Music Director, San Francisco Philharmonic and ACSO Board Member (moderator)
  • Laura Jackson, Music Director, Reno Philharmonic
  • Cordula Merks, Concertmaster, San Francisco Ballet Orchestra
  • Nicole Paiement, Artistic Director of Opera Parallele

The panel discussion will be followed by ACSO’s 2022 Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation.

The Annual Meeting allows ACSO members to vote on the slate of renewing board members, meet the 2022/23 officers, and learn about the association’s financial health, mission-driven work, and future initiatives.

The ACSO Awards Program recognizes remarkable individuals for their meaningful contributions to the orchestra field. The following awards will be presented: Most Valuable Player (MVP) Volunteer Awards, the Executive Leadership Award, and the Emerging Professional Award.
