Under the baton of Music Director Roger Kalia, Orchestra Santa Monica opens its 11th season with a performance of new music and classic masterpieces. The program begins with the exuberant fanfare lubilo by contemporary composer Brian Nabors. Internationally acclaimed pianist Vijay Venkatesh will join the orchestra to perform Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto ("Emperor"). Schumann's majestic 3rd Symphony ("Rhenish"), inspired by his love of the Rhineland, concludes the program.
